March Luncheon

Brett Taylor, a representative from Junior Achievement (JA) in the Wabash Valley was the March guest speaker. Mr. Taylor spoke about the JA in the community and how it works. JA is a program created for kids in the community to learn about and prepare young adults for work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. The mission of JA is "to Inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy." The lessons for JA are taught by volunteers in the community with all learning materials, instructions, and any other needs provided by JA. The volunteers teach 5 sessions, one every week for 30-60 minutes. The flexibility of the schedule and availability of classrooms available to teach (elementary school, middle school, and high school) make JA a great opportunity for community members to reach out to the children in the area and help them learn to become successful. For more information on JA, please feel free to contact the Vermillion County Chamber of Commerce or Brett Taylor directly at BTaylor@jastl.org
